Worksop depot marks new era for Harry Needle
We’ve entered an exciting new chapter and have never been in a better position in the leasing and the maintenance of locomotives. For over 20 years we’ve built up a strong reputation, serving a wealth of customers nationwide under the ethos of a commitment to safety, maximum security and value for money. We’ve invested £6 million in the development and operations of our new 15-acre site in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. It’s brought a new lease of life to the former Wagon Repair Depot site, which was run by DB Schenker, but has been vacant since 2015. Managing Director Harry Needle said: “Our new site in Workshop fulfils our aspiration in owning a large-scale depot and really takes us to the next level in the service we can offer. “This allows us to significantly expand our operations, with us being able to take 20 vehicles a week for repair, refurbishment and maintenance. The major project creates dozens of much-needed jobs for the area. We’ve also committed to an apprenticeship scheme, inspiring the next generation of rail sector workers.” The site also boasts the best in security, with manned guarding and security guards, 24-hour guard dog patrol, through to CCTV, fencing and alarm systems. It joins our other depot in Barrow Hill, Staveley, Derbyshire.
